Bilateral exchange programmes
The ENS has signed a number of agreements with superior institutions of higher education across the globe. These agreements offer ENS students the opportunity to train themselves for a career in teaching and research, whether as a visiting teaching assistant or researcher.

Each year, ten ENS students are able to study for a semester at the University of Columbia in New York. They have the status of “non-degree visiting graduate students” and are able to take courses in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Each exchange student is able to choose their classes (in general, four per semester). They have access to the library and its services, and are exempt from paying Columbia’s tuition fees and health insurance.
Each year, Princeton welcomes ENS students to work on their research in the spring semester, from February to June. Normaliens also have the opportunity to take classes at Princeton. Students have the status of Visiting Student Research Collaborator (VSRC), which entitles them to a Princeton university card and email address, as well as giving them access to Princeton’s library, computer, and health insurance.
