Interdisciplinary and international, the Suds [Souths] programme and the Interdisciplinary Centre for European Studies are emblematic of the changes taking place at the Rue d’Ulm: the transition in which the flagship of French training and research takes on a more global, open and engaged dimension.
By awarding these Honoris Causa Doctorates, ENS wishes to acknowledge the remarkable contribution of Dorothy Bishop and Dipesh Chakrabarty to international research over the last decades. In accepting these Doctorates, neuropsychologist Dorothy Bishop and historian Dipesh Chakrabarty, join an outstanding community of writers and scholars that includes, to name a few, Nobel laureates Toni Morrison, Chen Ning Yang, William Phillips, James E. Rothman, and Ahmed Zewail.
Professor Dorothy Bishop is one of the world’s leading authorities on Developmental Language Disorder, a condition that prevents children from properly using and understanding their native language. An honoris causa doctorate from ENS is only the latest in a series of awards in her distinguished career.
Starting on May 17, following the national campaigns undertaken in secondary and higher education, ENS is making Covid-19 self-testing kits available to its students, lecturers, researchers and staff members, which will facilitate the epidemiological monitoring of its community and help its activities run smoothly until summer.
