AI and Society Institute

The Institute for AI and Society aims to foster the responsible development and use of AI by studying its interactions with society.

The Institute’s missions are as follows:
- Reflection on public policy and the geopolitics of AI
- Engagement and participation in public debate
- Awareness-raising and knowledge sharing
- Support for research
- Action-research projects

The Institute draws on research conducted within its academic partners to enrich its work. To date, four major areas of shared interest have been defined:
- AI and social justice
- AI and the future of work
- AI robustness and security
- Language, images, and disinformation in the age of generative AI

The institute is jointly managed by its academic partners: Paris Dauphine University, the École normale supérieure, and Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL), as well as the AI and Society association.
